Business Development Manager

We seek an enthusiastic professional to join our close-knit Sales Team in promoting and selling the suite of Apparel 21 products and services to prospective customers.

Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, engaging and ultimately closing new business opportunities in our target markets. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will be required to achieve allocated sales targets, and ensure a sound commercial relationship is established with prospective customers.

This is a permanent full time position based in our Richmond, Melbourne office. The objective of this role is to assist with setting sales strategies to achieve organizational goals and to further expand our client base through the acquisition of great, like-minded businesses that we can help become more profitable and which can lead to excellent referrals. Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Generation of system sales and related products and services
  • Achieve or exceed agreed yearly gross sales targets
  • Presentation and delivery of product demonstrations and pre-sales presentations
  • Liaison and coordination with other internal teams
  • Identify prospective client’s challenges and competitor threats
  • Prepare and deliver accurate quotations and proposals
  • Maintain records and produce formal reports outlining key actives, pipeline and performance
  • Produce sales forecasts
  • Maintain consistent, professional customer service both internally and externally
  • National, interstate travel will be required

Skills and Experience

This role is a pivotal part of our service delivery. To succeed in this critical role, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a business development role of a similar industry
  • Demonstrated experience selling ERP solutions will be highly regarded
  • Experience working in a professional environment with a strong customer service orientation
  • Understanding of the Fashion/Footwear industry is a bonus
  • Ability to understand business problems and assist with finding creative solutions
  • Proven ability to manage and cultivate a prospect list effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to assess/understand customer requirements and document them
  • Experience working towards set targets
